Steam in the condenser of a steam power plant is condensed at 50 °C (h_{fg} = 2305 kJ/kg) by cooling water (c_{p} = 4180 J/kg·°C) from a nearby lake, which enters the tubes at 18 °C and leaves at 27 °C. The surface area of the tubes is 58 m^{2} and the overall heat transfer coefficient is 2400 W/m^{2}·°C. Determine (a) the mass flow rate of the cooling water (answer in kg/s) and (b) the rate of condensation of the steam (answer in kg/s).
